Gandharan Treasures
Digital Munich developed the Gandharan Treasures app for the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin, bringing timeless art to life and promoting regional tourism through augmented reality.
Gandhara art is a key part of Pakistan’s cultural heritage. However, its physical remnants are often difficult to access, scattered across remote archaeological sites and museums.
To make Gandhara art more accessible, the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin partnered with Digital Munich to create an augmented reality experience. This app, part of a larger digital tourism initiative, brings the intricate sculptures and architecture of the Gandhara civilization to life, allowing a global audience to explore these ancient masterpieces in an immersive format.
The augmented reality app, showcased at international events like ITB Berlin, promotes Pakistan’s rich history and enhances its visibility as a cultural tourism destination. This initiative helps bridge the gap between the past and present, boosting cultural exchange and supporting the growth of Pakistan’s tourism sector.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Digital Munich for their invaluable contribution in creating this tourism corner for Pakistan. Their dedication of time and resources has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.”
