Himalayan Panorama

The Pakistan Embassy brought the Himalayas to Germany using Digital Munich’s virtual reality solution, promoting tourism in the country.

Pakistan is home to a lot of natural beauty including the stunning Himalayas and the Karakoram Range. These natural wonders are some of the most breathtaking on Earth, yet they are non-moveable assets, and only those who can travel to Pakistan can experience them firsthand. Tourism contributes around 2.8% to Pakistan’s GDP, which is lower than its potential due to various challenges including infrastructure issues.

To enhance tourism, the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin sought to use modern technology by developing a digital tourism corner.

Digital Munich developed the Himalayan Panorama app, along with other digital experiences. This app allows users to explore the majestic landscapes of the Himalayas and the Karakoram Range from anywhere in the world. This VR solution brings Pakistan’s natural beauty to life in an immersive way.

The introduction of the digital tourism corner has had a significant impact on Pakistan’s ability to promote tourism and cultural exchange. By offering an immersive, interactive experience, the app allows the embassy to showcase the beauty of Pakistan to a global audience, fostering greater interest in visiting the country. The digital tourism corner is open to all visitors at the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin, making it a central attraction for those interested in exploring Pakistan’s natural wonders.

This launch marks a significant milestone in promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage in Germany.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Digital Munich for their invaluable contribution in creating this tourism corner for Pakistan. Their dedication of time and resources has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.”
